Didn't the producers say that this is the season where Penny does some growing up? Perhaps this is also when we'll finally find out her last name, which the producers have also said they'd be addressing (eventually).
A little picky - in the open, when Penny reads the title of the notebook Sheldon gives her, she mispronounces "Abelian group." She says a-bay-lian. It is a-bee-lian. An Abelian group is one that commutes, i.e. a*b = b*a, where * is any group operation, not just multiplication. Sorry - I had to point that out, I was a Math major.
For some reason, there are a number of mathematical jokes involving Abelian groups. Example: Q: What's purple and commutes? A: An Abelian grape.
Not to be pedantic, but shouldn't that be "Observation," not "Obervation"? :-)
