The Big Bang Theory - Fact or Fiction Trivia Game

Though I've had this game since Christmas, I've sadly only been able to play it twice. But if I had more people around who were interested, I would definitely be playing more often!

The game is for a group of 2 - 8 players - you can play as Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, Raj, Penny, Bernadette, Amy, or the out-of-order elevator. Your goal is to move around the game board and collect Character Cards by correctly answering trivia questions. The first person to collect all five Character Cards wins!

There are four different types of spaces on the board - Fact; Fiction; Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock; and what I'll call Miscellaneous.

When you land on a Fact or Fiction space, you draw a card from the corresponding deck, and try to answer the question. Fact cards will ask you about science, math, or trivia about The Big Bang Theory. Fiction cards ask questions about the guys' various interests, such as comic books and video games (though a general knowledge of these topics won't be much help - the questions are still closely tied to scenes from the TV show). On occasion the question may require you to draw something, which you can do on the included pad of paper.

The Countdown Reflection Recap

Again this is on the late side for a recap, but better late than never?

I'm going to start with the end of the episode, because that's the scene that got the most build up before the episode aired. Steve Molaro (one of the executive producers) said he couldn't watch it without tearing up. Melissa Rauch said they had to keep fixing her makeup between takes because of her tears. And many early reviews said it was one of the most touching moments they'd seen recently on TV.

So I had high expectations. And I was a little disappointed.

Maybe I was expecting something more shocking, more overt, more of a cliffhanger. When they just held hands, a small part of me thought, "That was it?" And while I still think it was built up a tad too much, with rewatches and discussion I've come to appreciate the ending much more.

The Launch Acceleration Recap

With the season finale of The Big Bang Theory only hours away, it's about time I get my thoughts posted on last week's episode!

"The Launch Acceleration" was the first Big Bang episode in over two years that I watched at home, as it aired, for the first time with no knowledge of what was going to happen. (Well, almost. I'd gotten spoiled and knew that Leonard proposed. But I didn't know how, or any of the specifics.) I was hoping for a strong episode to mark the occasion, and it didn't disappoint!

Leonard and Penny have been one of my OTPs since I started watching. Howard and Bernadette have been known to give me warm fuzzies this season, and I'm still digging the Shamy. So on the couple front, I was happy to see the developments for all three.

Two years ago, Leonard told Penny he loved her, and it sent her running. Now, he proposes (albeit, not intentionally), and while she initially, understandably, freaks out, in the end we see them working together to move past it. (Not to mention the adorable parallels with Penny quoting Star Wars before each "incident.") Through the second half of this season we have seen Leonard and Penny 2.0 working to correct what went wrong the first time around, and last week is just more evidence of how far they've come.

"Our BABIES will be smart and beautiful"

I will be making an entry soon with a review of last night's episode (because it was awesome, and deserves to be talked about!), but I have to go to work soon, so in the mean time...

There is a new, officially licensed, Leonard t-shirt. Considering that Leonard is my favorite character, and he rarely gets enough love, I would normally be thrilled. And buy it immediately.

But the quote is wrong.

As Leonard says in the Pilot, "Our babies will be smart and beautiful." And even when Raj brings it up again in season four, he says, "Do 'our babies will be smart and beautiful'. That one always makes me laugh." But the shirt says "children."

Maybe I'm being picky. Maybe I should just be glad there's another Leonard shirt. But I really wish the quote was correct.

So far I only see it for sale on Stylin Online's website - and they do have a link where you can "ask a question about this item," so I've asked if they can fix the quote. It's a long shot, but worth a try!

(Let's be honest, I'll probably end up buying the shirt anyways. But seeing as that's one of my favorite quotes from the series, it will still bug me immensely.)
