Big Bang Buzzcast Episode 51: Our Very Favorite Things

A shorter episode this week, but still lots of fun! (And our sound problems are fixed!)
  • Discussing the promo for The Table Polarization (7x16)
  • Why we shouldn't worry yet about a lack of a renewal announcement
  • We each share five of our favorite references that Big Bang Theory has made to other TV shows or movies - or anything really
  • This leads to Roxanne defending a recent purchase, and Nicole tempted to make a future one

  1. Just curious ... What was the sound problem and how did you solve it?

    1. I was using the simple microphone that comes on the laptop. Worked fine on my old one, not the cheaper one. The new mics plus me getting Audacity solved the problem.

  2. This may be a bit of a stretch but Kaley's charachter in 8 Simple Rules was from Michigan.

    1. I love that the Hennessy's were from Michigan. They always referenced places I knew! Though I agree for this, it's kind of a stretch. I think the Prady connection is much more likely.

  3. I love all the California references as well because all the places they mention are real. When I heard the Harry Potter's wand makes decision line, I was like omg Penny has read the seventh Harry Potter book. :)

  6. one reference that's a little obscure but was always one of my favourites, in , when Leonard gives Mrs. Cooper's phone number to Penny:

Penny: Look, I said I wanted to hurt him (Sheldon), but this-- but this?
Leonard: It will shorten the war by five years and save millions of lives.

Leonard's reaction is, I'm fairly certain, paraphrasing from a Season 6 episode of Star Trek: DS9 called Statistical Probabilities. a think tank of genetically modified geniuses want Starfleet to surrender to the Dominion, because their calculations and predictions say it's the only sensible option.
